The University of Moratuwa and ECON Infinity (Pvt) Ltd have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a framework for collaborative research and promote stronger industry–university engagement. The partnership was facilitated by the Enterprise Unit as part of its ongoing commitment to advancing research commercialization and fostering strategic collaborations with industry.
The MoU provides a platform for both parties to explore potential areas of collaborative research, knowledge exchange, and innovation. It is expected to serve as the foundation for future partnerships, including contract research, technology development, and commercialization initiatives arising from joint research activities.
The agreement was formally signed on 24th March 2026 at the University of Moratuwa. Representing the University, the Vice Chancellor participated in the signing ceremony together with the Director and Manager of the Enterprise Unit, staff members who supported the collaboration, representatives from the Department of Building Economics, and the Centre for Disaster Risk Reduction. Officials from ECON Infinity (Pvt) Ltd also attended the event.
This collaboration reflects the University’s continued efforts to strengthen partnerships with industry while creating opportunities for research with practical and societal impact. Through this MoU, both institutions aim to foster innovation, address real-world challenges, and build a strong foundation for future collaborative research and technology commercialization initiatives.
