University of Moratuwa and Krisheret Holdings (Pvt) Ltd Strengthen Industry Collaboration Through MoU and Non-Disclosure Agreement

The University of Moratuwa and Krisheret Holdings (Pvt) Ltd, a Sri Lankan manufacturer specializing in berets, ceremonial headgear, and fabric dyeing, have formalized a new industry partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA). The collaboration was facilitated by the Enterprise Unit to promote research, innovation, and technology commercialization between the University and industry.

The agreements establish a framework for both organizations to explore collaborative research, product development, knowledge exchange, and innovation in areas of mutual interest. The Non-Disclosure Agreement provides the necessary foundation for the confidential exchange of technical and commercial information during the evaluation and planning stages, while the Memorandum of Understanding outlines the commitment of both parties to pursue long-term collaboration.

The agreements were formally signed on 23rd April 2026 at the University of Moratuwa. Representing the University, the Vice Chancellor signed the agreements on behalf of the University, while the Managing Director represented Krisheret Holdings (Pvt) Ltd. Representatives from the Enterprise Unit also attended the signing ceremony and facilitated the collaboration.

This partnership marks an important milestone in strengthening university–industry engagement by creating opportunities for collaborative research, technology development, and future commercialization initiatives. Building on this foundation, both organizations intend to explore projects that leverage the University’s research expertise together with the industry’s manufacturing capabilities to develop innovative solutions with commercial and societal value.

The collaboration reflects the University of Moratuwa’s continued commitment to fostering innovation, strengthening partnerships with industry, and accelerating the translation of research into practical applications that contribute to Sri Lanka’s industrial and economic development.
