The Enterprise Unit of the University of Moratuwa was delighted to be part of the Brainstorm 2025 Grand Finale, organized by the IEEE EMBS Student Branch Chapter. The event took place on 5th July 2025 at the Rupert Peiris Auditorium, where the brightest young innovators showcased solutions that could transform the future of healthcare.
10 finalist teams presented their innovative projects during the final event from reimagining patient care to developing next-generation medical technologies. Their work reflected the creativity, technical skill, and entrepreneurial spirit that the University aims to nurture.
Representing the Enterprise Unit, Director Dr. Ajith Pasqual (also a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Electronic and Telecommunication Engineering), Ms. Amali Hettige (Manager, Enterprise Unit), Mr. Fayaz Hudha, Programme Head, Private Sector Development and Investment Promotion, and Dr. Rukshani Liyanaarachchi (Senior Lecturer, ENTC) served on the judging panel, providing expert evaluation and guidance to the finalists.
Participation in events like Brainstorm 2025 is a key part of the Enterprise Unit’s mission, building bridges between research, innovation, and real-world application. By engaging with students at such events, the Tech Transfer Office (TTO) helps inspire entrepreneurial thinking, supports the protection of intellectual property, and encourages the development of market-ready solutions that can create a positive impact on society.
