In support of the National Startup Ecosystem Development Programme, the Enterprise of the University of Moratuwa extended its guidance and resources to the Mora Ventures 6.0 program, organized by the Entrepreneurship Society of the University.
Mora Ventures 6.0 was designed as an inclusive platform—open to all aspiring entrepreneurs without restrictions—and was widely promoted through both print and digital media. The program received over 70 applications, which underwent a comprehensive screening process based on predefined criteria. Shortlisted teams progressed to mini-pitch sessions, where they benefited from one-on-one mentorship before the top six finalists were selected.
The Grand Finale of the event took place on April 2, 2025, at the CSE Seminar Room, University of Moratuwa. The finalists presented their ideas before a distinguished panel of judges:
- Mr. Mangala Karunarathne, Founder & Board Member of Calcey
- Mr. Fayaz Hudah, Programme Head – Private Sector Development and Investment Promotion
- Mr. Chalinda Abeykoon, Managing Partner, nVentures
We are proud to announce that:
- Team “Itself Automation” emerged as the champion
- Team “Movemate” was the first runner-up
- Team “D&S Green Food” secured the second runner-up position
To recognize and reward these promising ventures, prize money of LKR 200,000, LKR 100,000, and LKR 50,000 respectively has been allocated under the “Invention Promotion Grant” of the revised National Startup Ecosystem Budget.
We kindly seek your support to release the required funds for the above prizes, in order to continue empowering these promising startups and further strengthening Sri Lanka’s innovation and entrepreneurial landscape.
