The Enterprise Unit of the University of Moratuwa proudly participated in theSPARK Challenge 2024/25 Finale, held onSunday, 3rd August 2025 at DHPL Lounge 42, Colombo. The event was organized by the Electronic Club of the Department of Electronic and Telecommunication Engineering (ENTC) to celebrate and showcase the innovative solutions developed by student teams throughout the challenge.
Representing the Enterprise Unit, Dr. Ajith Pasqual (Director, Enterprise Unit and Senior Lecturer, ENTC) and Ms. Amali Hettige (Manager, Enterprise Unit) attended the event. Beyond participation, the Enterprise Unit played a key role in supporting the early stages of the program, including:
- Developing screening guidelines for evaluating project ideas.
- Assisting with the initial evaluation process to identify promising innovations.
- Providing early-stage guidance to startups and student teams as they shaped their business ideas ahead of the final pitching session.
The SPARK Challenge continues to serve as a platform for young innovators and entrepreneurs to transform creative ideas into impactful solutions. The Enterprise Unit remains committed to nurturing university-led innovations and creating pathways for successful commercialization.
