The University of Moratuwa has further strengthened its industry engagement through a new partnership with Megha One Palace (Pvt) Ltd, creating opportunities to explore collaborative research and innovation across multiple emerging sectors. The collaboration was facilitated by the Enterprise Unit as part of its ongoing efforts to connect the University’s research expertise with industry needs.
To formalize the partnership, the University and Megha One Palace (Pvt.) Ltd signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) together with a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) on 21st June 2026 at the Vice Chancellor’s Boardroom, University of Moratuwa.
The collaboration will provide a framework for both organizations to jointly explore research and development opportunities in a range of fields, including mobile application development for personal well-being, medical supplement manufacturing, and the processing and refinement of gems, while remaining open to future areas of mutual interest. The agreements also establish a confidential platform for technical discussions and the evaluation of innovative concepts prior to undertaking collaborative projects.
The agreements were signed by the Vice Chancellor on behalf of the University of Moratuwa. Megha One Palace (Pvt) Ltd was represented by its Directors, who attended the signing ceremony together with representatives from the Enterprise Unit.
This partnership reflects the University’s commitment to fostering multidisciplinary collaboration with industry by creating pathways for knowledge exchange, applied research, and innovation. By bringing together academic expertise and industrial experience, the collaboration is expected to support the development of solutions with commercial potential while addressing opportunities in diverse technology and manufacturing sectors.
Through partnerships such as this, the Enterprise Unit continues to play a key role in promoting university–industry collaboration, strengthening research commercialization, and contributing to Sri Lanka’s innovation ecosystem.
