University of Moratuwa and Deloitte Japan Discuss the Upcoming GS-JTI Career Fair

The University of Moratuwa hosted a preliminary meeting with the Deloitte Japan team on 10 August 2026 to discuss preparations for the upcoming Global South-Japan Tech Talent Internship (GS-JTI) Career Fair at the University.

The meeting was held at the ENTC Boardroom, bringing together the relevant University representatives and the Deloitte Japan team to discuss the arrangements, programme requirements, and preparations for the upcoming event. The GS-JTI programme, initiated by the Japanese Government through the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), provides opportunities for undergraduate students in Engineering and Information Technology to undertake fully funded short-term internships with leading Japanese companies. Deloitte Japan is coordinating the program on behalf of the Japanese government.

Following the meeting, the Deloitte Japan team visited the proposed venues within the university premises where the career fair and related activities are planned to be conducted. The site visit provided an opportunity for the team to become familiar with the university facilities and to assess the proposed arrangements ahead of the event.

The meeting and site visit served as an important initial physical engagement and familiarization activity, supporting the joint preparation and coordination required to conduct the upcoming program successfully. The event is expected to provide University of Moratuwa students with an opportunity to learn about internship opportunities with Japanese companies and engage directly with representatives from the participating organizations.

The University of Moratuwa looks forward to welcoming the Japanese companies and facilitating meaningful connections between its students and leading Japanese technology organizations through the GS-JTI program.
