The University of Moratuwa and Seahorse Air Ceylon (Pvt) Ltd signed a collaboration agreement on 28 August 2026 at the Office of the Vice Chancellor, marking a new university–industry partnership in the emerging field of Advanced Air Mobility.
The collaboration was facilitated through the Enterprise Unit of the University of Moratuwa, strengthening the University’s engagement with industry and creating opportunities to connect its research and engineering expertise with emerging technology development and innovation initiatives.
Under the collaboration, the University of Moratuwa will serve as a collaborative research and technical partner, contributing its multidisciplinary expertise towards research, development, evaluation, testing, and technical refinement activities.
The initiative supports the exploration and development of capabilities in an emerging aviation technology sector while providing opportunities for collaboration between academia and industry. The partnership also reflects the university’s continued commitment to supporting technology transfer, innovation, and the commercialization of research through meaningful industry engagement.
The Enterprise Unit facilitates such collaborations by connecting industry partners with the University’s academic, research, and technical expertise and supporting the development of partnerships that create opportunities for innovation, research, and technology development.
The agreement was signed at the University of Moratuwa in the presence of representatives of the University and Seahorse Air Ceylon (Pvt) Ltd.
